Well LibSyn still haven't gotten back to me and Why Fidelity is still in limbo. In order to stop my head from exploding I've decided to regress into a blissful, childlike state where cute little trains can solve all the world's problems...
Apparently Live 365 isn't the only site to hate me these days - now some combination of LibSyn and Paypal has screwed up my account for Why Fidelity. For the moment that means no WhyFi - hopefully I'll get this resolved pronto - you'll read ii here first when I do.
I had intended to put Mystifyingly Glad, my Sunshine/Bubblegum/Baroque/Chamber Pop radio station on hiatus for a few months while I concentrated on other projects. The station has a decent size audience but i need to take a break from those labors of love that cost more dosh than they bring back and Mystifyingly Glad , thanks to my total lack of marketing savvy, doesn't bring back much at all. I'd hoped to return to broadcasting, with a somewhat modified theme, round about Halloween, but everything's gone pear shaped and that won't happen.
Sadly the abysmal customer service I received from station host Live365 has left such a sour taste in my mouth that I can't imagine ever giving them another cent of my money. As a result Mystifyingly Glad will shortly go off the air for good.
Thanks very much indeed to the hundreds of listeners who were kind enough to add me to their pre-sets and especially those kind souls who actually named Mystifyingly Glad their favorite Live 365 station. Your support was, and will always be, warmly appreciated.
On the other hand, in order to cheer myself up I decided to upgrade Why Fidelity's Podcast hosting account with LibSyn which means more frequent and slightly longer editions of WhyFi from now on. So it's not all bad news.
The inspired Bubblegumfink has been putting together his own fantasy trading card sets for a while now and the latest is a brilliant set devoted to the cult classic Phantom of the Paradise. Paul Williams is one of my musical heroes so this is an extra special addition to my Bubblegumfink collection.
The month's almost over and I've only just gotten around to plugging Ernie (not Bert), bongolong land and A Christmas Yuleblog and their wonderful Christmas in Julyofferings. I've just started compiling my various podcasts and compilations for the coming holiday season (and by holiday season I mean Halloween through New Years) but I've nothing new to offer at the moment so please check out the above mentioned blogs, especially the God Kringle-like magnificence that is Ernie (Not Bert) and, if you missed them last year, check out one or more of Why Fidelity's Christmas shows...
