Dodgeball - DVD
Mildly amusing gagfest that suffers from too little script and too much Ben Stiller. Stiller has, seemingly for me only, joined the ranks of the absurdly over-praised, over-paid and under-talented comic actors dominated in the past by Sandler and Carrey. In a film full of broad performaces, excepting perhaps Vince Vaughan, Stiller gives a Zoolander-esque mug parade that leaves little scenery left undigested.
Dodgeball made huge money at the box office - it's underdog tale apparently resonated with people, lots of people - but really it's no funnier than a Police Academy or "Ernest" movie - view with low expectations and you'll have plenty of giggles while the studio laughs it's self silly all the way to the bank.
