On the internet global quickly becomes local. I know more about the food scenes in San Francisco and London than I know about my own home town's, though it's been years since I've had the joy of actually visiting either city. Thanks to true crime blogs I feel like an expert on the dirty little secrets and occasional random acts of horror that are the underpinnings of a dozen cities and towns other than my own. And now, thanks to James Lilek's new gig at buzz.mn I'm quickly becoming a displaced Minnesotan without ever having stepped foot in the state.
